Happy New Year!

I as look back on all that has happened over the past year, I feel so fortunate for what I have and what I have been able to do. I have made so many new friends through my clients and other photographers. Our growth this past year has been amazing and I want to thank Randy, Heather & Katie for being there for me through our busiest year. Without them there is no way we would have made it. We of course moved our studio this year to downtown SLC. Something that I had been planning to do for over 3 years. The products that we offer to our clients has also gotten better and better and we have some really cool things coming to our lineup in 2007. I thought back over the past year all day today. Actually I have been going over my blog and seeing all of the amazing weddings that we were able to be a part of as well as some of the crazy things that can happen like my wife totalling her new car. I also can't forget that both of my brothers brought new babies into the world this year. I look forward to making 2007 one of the best years yet. I have put a lot things in place to make sure that 2007 will be a one to remember. I hope that we can be a part of your life in one way or another in the coming year.

Happy New Year to all of you!

I have a bit of a bag fetish!

I have to admit something. I am a little addicted to new notebook bags, well just bags in general. Its pretty sad actually. I have, lets just say over 10 bags in a closet at my house for my powerbook. And today I added another bag to my collection. I returned a portable drive to Circuit City today and decided that I would just look around. Of course I ended up looking at the computer stuff and got bored pretty quick since all they carry is PC stuff. Then I came to the bags. I am pretty picky about bags. They have to have certain things in order for me to like them. First off, I only like messenger bags. Not sure why, but its all I ever buy. Second off, it has to have a water bottle holder and room for my books and my 15in powerbook. There it was, hanging on the rack. It seemed to have a glow around it as I went to grab it. The price was good and it was a match made in heaven. I am positive my powerbook will love its new home!

OK , I'm a little dorky about it I know. Its the small things in life that make me happy.

Reagan & Kirsten

So in my last post I talked about the long drive in the snow to Saint George. Man it was some crazy weather which made the drive take almost 7 hours. The wedding was worth the drive though. Reagan and Kirsten are so incredible and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately our stay in Saint George was less then 14 hours. As soon as the luncheon was over I jumped in the car and drove straight home for a wedding early the next morning - Stay tuned for those pics tomorrow.
Here are a few of Reagan and Kirsten.

These last two are from The Barn which is where they had their Luncheon. I did these just for a little fun and thought they were cool.

Philip & Merrick

It has been a crazy week. 3 weddings in 4 days with one of those weddings being in Saint George (more on that tomorrow) and one of those days spent driving. Philip & Merrick however were the first this week and man did I have a good time! The were married on Wednesday and I thought we were going to get lucky with the weather. It was nice all the way until they came out of the temple and then it started raining pretty hard. No worries though, we got a couple big group shots and then dashed to do the families inside the JSMB. By the time we were finished it stopped raining and we got to have a little fun. Check out some of my favs below. Sorry about how many there are, I just had too much fun.

Jon + Ashlee

I think it was about 5 degrees yesterday when we went to shoot these engagements. I felt so bad for Jon & Ashlee. Here I am with my big coat on and they weren't wearing any coats. Either way, we had fun and got some really cool shots. Here are a few of my favorites.

Oh by the way, The Wedding Stories on my site are a HUGE hit! I am getting emails from brides that want me to design one for them, the only kicker is that I only do it for my clients. So if you want one you need to hire us for your wedding. Check out the wedding stories on our site at http:/www.dezemberphoto.com

New for 2007 | Wedding Stories!

I am so excited to announce one our newest features to our wedding packages as well as our website! In 2007 we will be doing Wedding Stories to almost every wedding we shoot. This is so much fun. For each couple, we will have a website that can be accessed through the dezemberphoto.com site. It will feature anything and everything about your wedding. It will show where you are registered, who your vendors are, where your wedding will be held, your colors, your dress. If you want it on the site it will be there. There will also be slideshows from all of your photo sessions. We can even put up a movie of your growing up pictures if you want to. Each site will be custom designed and match the style and feel of your wedding. We love getting to know our new friends so much that I thought it would be great to let all of our clients get to know them as well. Here is a mock up of how the sites will look. Stay tuned because our first Wedding storys for 2007 will be online next week!

The Bridal Showcase

If you know me, you would know that I am not a huge fan of bridal shows, but because the bridal showcase is in downtown SLC, I felt that I needed to be there. Come check out our entirely new and crazy booth at the show on January 12 & 13. I will be doing some really amazing give aways at the booth so be sure to come by and say hi.

David & Iliana got married!

I absolutely loved shooting this wedding! These two live in London and came back to Utah to get married in the Salt Lake Temple. I seriously only met them a couple of days before the wedding, which really worried me because I really like to get to know my couples before their weddings. I was pretty relieved after meeting with them because they were so down to earth. It was an amazing wedding and Randy and I had a blast! They had a reception at the JSMB with a bunch of their closest friends and family. Dinner was great and the cake was amazing! Take a look!

Fine Art is FUN!

A week or two ago I hosted our local Pictage User Group meeting in the new studio and at the end of the meeting a bunch of us went outside and took some really great Fine Art images. The goal was to capture light and color without using a flash. Here are the two that I came up with and one that Randy also did. I really like Randy's shot (the last one), but as usually mine are better. ;) I posted that part just for Randy by the way. His stuff is always really good.

They post almost daily so its important to visit it often. The other cool thing that they are about to do it launch a vendors area where you can find the some of the best vendors in the state. The vendors will also be posting on the blog so you can get to know them even better.

Seriously, if you haven't checked it out, I suggest you do so today!

Hang the Stockings...

Tonight we put up our Christmas tree and I have to say that this is the earliest I have ever put it up. I usually wait until about 10 or 15 days before Christmas, but this year just seems to be different. Connor is finally old enough to help and have fun with it. We went with a little more formal theme this year for the tree. Last year we just threw it up with a ton of broken ornaments and bad lights. I think it looks good and Im glad its up.

Connor got to put the finishing touch on the tree.
Our cat Sally was pretty impressed by the tree too.

Kenny & Michele

Still catching up on past shoots and weddings. It had been a little while since I had been to the Bountiful Temple. It was such a perfect day. The clouds looked amazing and so did Michele. I loved hearing all of their stories at the lunch and to see how they grew up and met. I haven't totally edited the entire wedding yet so I only have images from the temple to show you.
